Use this recipe for healthy apple turnovers to treat yourself to something delicious. For the ideal post-workout snack, combine it with your preferred protein!

    1. Heat the oven to 400 degrees F.
    2. In a bowl, mix cornstarch, xylitol, and cinnamon. Set apart.
    3. On a medium heat, melt the coconut oil in a skillet. Mix thoroughly before adding apples.
    4. For 3 to 4 minutes, let cook. Mix the dry ingredients into the apple mixture until all of the apples are coated.
    5. Cook sauce for a while until it thickens.
    6. Remove from the heat and reserve.
    7. Cut four squares from unrolled pastry sheets.
    8. Each pastry sheet should include apples in the centre. Fold over from one corner to the next to form a triangle.
    9. To seal in apples, press down the edges with a fork.
    10. Place the baking sheet with parchment paper inside.
    11. Brush the egg whites on top of each turnover with a pastry brush and, if desired, sprinkle with extra xylitol.
    12. About 20 minutes or till golden should be baked.
    13. Before enjoying, give it a little time to cool.

  2. Those turnovers are huge! Feel free to make eight smaller ones in its place. Note that you should adjust the baking time to about 12 minutes for 8 turnovers.
